Leader needed for highway clean-up

For many years the Ventana Chapter did a monthly clean-up on Highway 1 in Sand City. The people who did this are no longer able to continue on a monthly basis and have given it up. If there is anyone who would be interested in taking on the responsibility of organizing and conducting this on-going project, it is now available.

Cleaning up trash on the Highway is not difficult. It takes about two hours once a month, and you can choose the time you do it. The clean-up can be listed in The Ventana as a Club activity, or the participants can just do it with friends. It can be done comfortably with as few as two people, although three or four make the job go faster.

This is a nice way to contribute in a tangible, visible way to our local environment. You get the satisfaction of seeing the clean highway after you are finished. You get to see the sign at the beginning of our section that reads, Sierra Club Ventana Chapter.
